The mental operation involved is called शक्तिग्रह 7 संकेतग्रह। at is effected in many ways-by observation and practice as in a child, by context, by instruction etc. etc. Words are of four kinds--aF, TU TEE, AT 2757 and यदृच्छा शब्दू 03' द्रव्य शब्द् . These are comprehended by the अभिधा शक्ति of words. जाति शब्द is a common name of an individual denoted by its genus ( जाति ) e.g, गो denotes an individual by the शक्तिग्रह in गोत्व जाति . In common naries शक्तिग्रह् is of genus not of individual. If संकेतग्रह be presumed of individuals then either all the individuals of a genus of all places and of all times-be comprehended seperately at one and the same time or only one particular
